Elephants are highly evolved social animals. Being in a herd allows elephants to feel more secure in their lives.
In the society of elephants, they have a unique language to communicate with each other. Different tones also represent emotions and feelings at that moment. Elephants have two languages to communicate with each other. One is the spoken language and the other is their body language.
There are elephants who do not make a sound, audible to us at least, which may indicate a state of stress, or fear. Their body language often will reflect that, either from posturing, actions and even their eyes.
It is not often that we see elephants having a conversation like this, unless they are in a herd. The sense of both freedom and security gives them the confidence to express themselves in conversation and share their feelings with each other. We are grateful to the Giants who allow us access into their herd, giving us opportunity to share their voices with you.
