Hello friends and welcome to my Grim Fandango retrospective. Today we’ll be taking a deep dive into one of Tim Schafer’s most legendary games. Created while he was working for Lucas arts and remastered by his current studio double fine games, Grim Fandango is one of the absolute legends of graphical adventure games.
We’ll be exploring a lot of 90s video game nostalgia as we dive in and analyze the story, characters and world of this Mexican day of the dead inspired game.
My love for this game can’t be understated, everything from the pre rendered backgrounds, hyper stylized characters all taking part in a wonderful film noir inspired story of corruption and theft. So let’s sharpen our scythes, set our brains to overdrive to solve the great puzzles and enjoy this wonderful 4 year adventure across the 8th underworld…. Hopefully that’s enough keywords.
