1. What is a Start-Up
- A startup is a company that is trying to solve a problem that a lot of the time is very uncertain to succeed doing
- It might have a lot of competition or it might not succeed
- It's one of those companies that literally and angel to come to help them succeed. ( thus angel investing )

And remember:
- Most start-up fail
- So you could end up with nothing
- So I recommend if your going to invest, use the 90-10 rule ( 90% into things you understand and have been proving and the other 10% into that have not)

For example:
- We all know Uber and air bnb
- But think about that idea a few years ago
- We are going to destroy the taxi industry, or we are going to put hotel out of business by having individuals rent their place

Or for example, a current Startup:
- It's called cruise
- And its working on making driverless cars to do deliveries
- Potentially taxis and all that good stuff
- But its promising to change the way we see cars forever
- High-risk high reward

2. How can I as Individua Invest
- Its going to be through crowdfunding usually
- This means a lot of people invest money
- This means you don’t need that much money to invest

But There are Rules to Follow:
- Non Accredited investor have limits because according to the SEC, these investments are to risky for the average person
- If you make less than 107k per year you can only invest up $2,200 or 5% of your annual income or net worth
- If you make above 107k you can do 10% of income or net worth which ever is greater

But if you are an accredited investor:
- Meaning you make above 200k or have over a million-dollar net worth not including primary residence
- For a minimum of 2 years or 300k if you're married

Now before you say they are trying to keep us away from the good stuff:
- The answer is not really
- This stuff is very risky
- And that’s why its limited

3. Crowdfunding Options
- These options sometimes require a minimum investment of $100 or $500 or sometimes even $1000

Options: Show then the Options
- WEfunder
- Seedinvest ( require $500)
- Start Engine
- Republic
- AngelList but only for accrediting investors

Pro is:
- Potentially for a lot of gain

Con:
- Extremely risky 90% of them fail
- Very illiquid
- Time to see results
