Marijuana Policy Racism And Reparations For Communities Of Color

As the impacts of America’s Drug War remain in the form of mass incarceration, destroyed families, high poverty and blighted or gentrified neighborhoods, the rise of the legal marijuana industry threatens to continue victimizing communities of color. This webinar – presented by Malaki Seku Amen of the California Urban Partnership and Jim Keddy of Youth Forward – will provide an overview of the current local and state tax and regulatory policy issues around legal marijuana, through a racial and health equity lens. Jim Keddy and Malaki Seku Amen will also discuss their efforts to date, and opportunities to advance the movement for equity in marijuana policy.
